TWO suspects were apprehended by the Alberton SAPS on July 11 in connection with the hijacking of a RAM courier vehicle.
The victims of the hijacking allege that they were attacked by five suspects while driving their white van in Alrode. They were forced into the back of the vehicle.
The suspects drove around with them inside, stopping in Dekana Road to load the stolen goods from the RAM courier van into a white Quantum. Police in the area noticed the suspects loading cell phones and tablets from the RAM van and approached them.
As the police approached the suspects, they made a break for it but two of the suspects were apprehended. The police recovered a firearm with no serial number as well as a toy gun that was used by the suspects.
The suspects aged 35 and 25 are being charged with car hijacking as well as the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. They are detained at the Alberton SAPS
