THE post office at Meyersdal has been without power for the past two weeks.
According to Johan Kruger, spokesperson for the Postal Service, the power outage is due to a payment dispute with the owner of the property the post office is located at.
No estimated time for the restoration of power to the post office was given.
“The post office understands the inconvenience to residents and is working to solve the issue as soon as possible. We would also like to apologise to our customers,” said Kruger.
The post office is currently doing deliveries but no financial transactions can be handled.
Residents that need post office services can go to the closest alternatives: Bassonia Post Office in Comaro View Shopping Centre on the corner of Soetdoring and Comaro streets or Bracken Gardens Post Office in Brackenhurst Square on the corner of Vermooten and Abel Mollar streets.
