UPDATE: Pipe repairs underway on Eaton Terrace Road
Repairs on the water pipe on Eaton Terrace Road can leave areas of New Redruth without water till late.
Water in areas of New Redruth has been off today due to damage done to a pipe by crews digging trenches for fibre cables on Eaton Terrace Road. Where the water pipe was damaged an electricity cable was also damaged creating an environment deemed unsafe to repair the water pipe.
Authorities are on scene to access what needs to be done to repair the pipe and cable but estimates are that it will only be fixed late at night on June 27.
Electricity in the area will also have to be turned off for repairs to the cable, leaving the area without electricity and water until repairs are completed.
More updates will follow as soon as more information becomes available.
