Mrs Africa 2018, Lucinda Pietersen is striving for international heights

She won the overall title in the Mrs-category, as well as the international title Mrs Africa Globe 2018.

AFTER taking the over-all title as Mrs Africa 2018, Lucinda Pietersen has her mind made up to make a difference in others’ lives on an international level.

Lucinda, from Alberton, took part in the Mrs Africa pageant’s grand finale competition on November 4. She won the overall title in the Mrs-category, as well as the international title Mrs Africa Globe 2018. She will be competing with this new title in China later this year. This grand finale took place over a whole week at the Buffelspoort Nature Reserve.

“It required a lot of preparation from my side in terms of charity work that needed to be done, the hosting of events and fund-raisers and, of course, self-preparation,” she said.

There were 40 contestants competing that week. Lucinda said that it was a tense week where excitement and stress overwhelmed her simultaneously. Despite that, her mind was set on victory.

“I want to spread my vision on a global scale,” said Lucinda. “That is why I don’t just aim for a national title – I aim to win and make a global difference with an international title.”

During the week of the competition, there were a number of activities that contestants had to complete. These included donations and charity events, photo shoots, site-seeing, dinner events, a gift presentation, and lots of judging.

One can imagine that, with 40 competing women, there would be some degree of conflict and/or drama. Lucinda said in order to avoid this, she kept herself secluded from the other women. Good thing she did, because when the week was over, contestants were told that they had secretly been recorded throughout the whole week.

The judges were proud of Lucinda for keeping her pose the whole week.

“We watched you and you proved to be worthy of your new title. Don’t let anyone discriminate you after your victory,” they commented

Radio interviews, sponsorships and newspaper articles quickly followed after Lucinda received her new title.

“I love my new title. It’s always been about the charity. It’s helping me to help others even more,” she told the RECORD.

Some recent charity projects in which Lucinda took part includes an Easter Project where she handed out Easter eggs to various less fortunate communities and hospitals, motivational speaking, feeding less fortunate families, initiatives in aid of orphans and abandoned babies, and her own initiative in aid of broken women – MJ Productions.

If you would like your company to get more exposure, consider becoming a sponsor for Lucinda. She is currently in need of sponsors for clothing, flights, accommodation and funding for her charity projects. In return, Lucinda will provide your organisation with very good publicity.
