Alberton SAPS arrested 9 suspects for business break-in

A business was broken into in the Alberton area on April 15 at about 8.15pm.

A BUSINESS was broken into in the Alberton area on April 15 at about 8.15pm.

Following the break-in, Alberton SAPS received information about the getaway car and its registration number.SAPS opened a case and put out a lookout for the vehicle.

The next day, at about 1am, the vehicle was spotted by SAPS with five suspects in it. The vehicle was stopped and searched and the suspects were found to be in possession of a firearm.

They were arrested and taken to Alberton SAPS and is still in custody awaiting further investigation.

Following a further lead, SAPS searched one of the suspects’ place of residence and another four suspects were arrested and two more firearms were found.

This resulted in a total of nine suspects taken in for further questioning and four firearms retrieved. Stolen goods from the business premises were also found in further investigations.
