Junior Colleges Castillian hosts fun run for World Cancer Day

The little ones especially enjoyed the festivities.

JUNIOR Colleges Castillian, together with Mundellā€™s Hairdressing, hosted a Pink Colour Fun Run on February 2. This year, World Cancer Day was celebrated on February 4.

ā€œJust as cancer affects everyone in different ways, all people have the power to take various actions to reduce the impact that cancer has on individuals, families and communities,ā€ said Elizabeth Steenkamp on behalf of the college.

ā€œWorld Cancer Day is a chance to reflect on what you can do, make a pledge and take action. Whatever you choose to do, you can make a positive difference and fight against the dread of cancer,ā€ she added.

Mundellā€™s Hairdressing held a Shave-A-Thon and many brave parents, children and staff of the college shaved their heads. The little ones especially enjoyed the festivities – pink cupcakes, pink ribbons, pink marshmallows and pink ice-cream to match their little pink faces.

SHAVE-A-THON: This brave youngster had his head shaved to show his support towards the cause.
