JUNIOR Colleges Castillian, together with Mundellās Hairdressing, hosted a Pink Colour Fun Run on February 2. This year, World Cancer Day was celebrated on February 4.
āJust as cancer affects everyone in different ways, all people have the power to take various actions to reduce the impact that cancer has on individuals, families and communities,ā said Elizabeth Steenkamp on behalf of the college.
āWorld Cancer Day is a chance to reflect on what you can do, make a pledge and take action. Whatever you choose to do, you can make a positive difference and fight against the dread of cancer,ā she added.
Mundellās Hairdressing held a Shave-A-Thon and many brave parents, children and staff of the college shaved their heads. The little ones especially enjoyed the festivities – pink cupcakes, pink ribbons, pink marshmallows and pink ice-cream to match their little pink faces.
