Man injured after being shot in Alrode robbery

Brackendowns detectives are investigating this incident.

A MAN is recovering in hospital after being shot six times in a robbery in Alrode over the weekend.

At around 10.10am on November 25 Brackenhurst Police responded to a shooting in Alrode and upon arrival saw a man had been shot six times, in both thighs and his right hand.

“The victim said he noticed a Toyota Corolla that was parked next to him at Bracken City shopping centre when he was coming from the Absa bank and spotted the very same car in Barium Street, Alrode,” said Sgt Lindi Moloi, Brackendowns SAPS spokesperson.

“Four armed black males shot him and took money to the value of R60 000; unfortunately the victim did not see the registration number of the vehicle because it was raining,” she added.

Brackendowns detectives are investigating this incident.

Anyone with any information, please contact the investigating officer, Det Hlengani Mathebula on 011 617 5621.

“We urge community members not to draw large sums of money because it’s the festive season and criminals want money so people leaving the banks will be targeted,” said Moloi.
