Wishing on a star

"This year I'd like it to be an extra special festive season for the children in the home."

IT’S that time of the year again and The Glen Shopping Centre has put up the Christmas tree in support of St Mary’s Children’s Home.

“We are hoping customers who come to The Glen in the next few weeks will support this initiative and we can take lots of gifts, toiletries and groceries to St Mary’s Children’s Home so the children can have a wonderful Christmas,” said Carla Juta, marketing co-ordinator.

It couldn’t be simpler! The Christmas tree is situated next to the Customer Care Kiosk. Remove a tag, buy a gift (details on the tag) or a grocery or toiletry item. Take the gift, with the tag to Customer Care Kiosk or Centre Management Offices (top floor) or take the gift home, wrap and return it to either of the above with the tag attached. That’s it!

“Each year the tree has been in the centre and shoppers have been very generous in giving and it’s made such a difference to the children’s Christmas. Many of them have no families and spend their holidays in the home. This year I’d like it to be an extra special festive season for them and my wish is for customers to open up their hearts to ensure it’s a fantastic Christmas for all the children in our home,” said Sonja Harmse, director of St Mary’s.

Your generosity will go a long way in making this Christmas very special for the children of St Mary’s Children’s Home and there’s just over four weeks to make this dream come true!
