Meyersdal accident leaves two dead

The driver had to be cut free with the Jaws of life.

Two people were killed in an accident on Monday, November 20, in Bluecrane Drive, Meyersdal.

Emergency services were dispatched on reports of a vehicle that collided into a tree.

When they arrived, they found  the driver of the vehicle was in a critical condition.

The driver had to be cut free with the Jaws of Life and was taken to a nearby hospital for further care where he was declared dead later.

The passenger was also treated on scene and transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The cause of the accident will form part of investigations by authorities.

Med Help Emergency Services Pty Ltd, Er24, Emer-G-Med (Pty) Ltd,Ekhuruleni Fire and Rescue and EMPD were on scene.
