Yet another armed robbery took place at Alberton City Shopping Centre at approximately 11.30am on Friday, November 3.
Staff from the Donna-Claire clothing store were held at gunpoint and the store robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise.
An undisclosed number of suspects managed to flee before security officials arrived on the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. To avoid compromising the case, full details of the incident cannot be disclosed to the public. The matter has been handed over to the SAPS for further investigation.
Shoppers are urged to report any suspicious behaviour to security staff (situated around the centre) and/or centre management immediately. “The safety of all patrons and shoppers is and always remains the centre’s top priority and we will continue to remain alert,” said Kurt Keshwar on behalf of Alberton City Centre Management.
