COMMUNITY Policing Forum (CPF) held their 25-hour marathon patrol on October 28.
“It was really great to see such support from the community and local business too,” said Luciano Dias.
The marathon was a great display of visibility with several cars on the road including extra police vehicles, the police reservists and dedicated vehicles from security companies.
“During the 25 hours, various key locations were identified and members concentrated on these areas. To make things a little more interesting patrol co-ordinators Ju-Anne and Sean Coetzee had the patrollers participate in a fun scavenger hunt. By the time Sunday morning was upon us, there were fewer patrollers and despite being tired, the remaining few were still in good spirits.
“These men and women deserve the prayers and respect of the community for their commitment and selfless acts of service.

“Despite security companies trading under different names, we all share the same vision to serve, protect and help make our community a safer, crime-free space,” added Magda Schwarz for D&D.
All open fields were walked and checked, stolen cables were retrieved from one field and accidents were attended to.
“To the community members and residents that donated towards our cause, we thank you too,” said Luciano.
The Brackendowns CPF would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the sponsors for the day. They donated refreshments, meals and financial support.”
The sponsors were Rawsons Properties, D & D Tactical, Fox Security, Christos Pizza Mayberry Park, Des and Leandre Singh, Dalene Wagner, Sasol Meyersdal, KAD Industries and Sonja Steyn.
CPF also thanked Leon and Antoinette Du Plessis and Sean And Ju Anne Coetzee who organised this event.
