WITH the greater Walkerville area being one of the closest agricultural and farming areas to Johannesburg, the community came together on Sunday, October 29, at the Walkerville Showgrounds at 12 noon to unite and stand up for the beloved farmers.
WATCH:
Their message was, “Today was the day where we established a platform for our community to come together to send a strong message out to South Africa and to the rest of the world, that we hear our farmers’ cries for change and that something needs to be done now!
“No farmers, no food. And now is the time we need to stand together and make that change! Let’s stand together, South Africa. And we challenge each and every one of you to continue this fight!”
The community painted a huge #SAVEOURFARMERS on a field just outside the Walkerville Showgrounds. A drone was flown over the crowd, capturing support from the community. A helicopter also flew over, taking aerial photographs of all the people who had come out in support of the cause.
