Cultural extravaganza winners impress

Well-deserved awards were handed out to some of the school’s talented learners.

ALBERTON High School hosted a Cultural Extravaganza Award event on the evening of October 12.

All who attended were in for amazing performances and well-deserved awards were handed out to some of the school’s talented learners.

The theme for the evening was Mad Hatters. The audience was entertained by Alice in Wonderland and The Wizard of Oz-themed skits. “We truly felt like we were down in the rabbit hole,” said Carol Roberts on behalf of the school.

BEAUTIFUL VOICE: Keabetswe Tenyane wowed the crowd with her angelic voice.

The winners of the evening are as follows: Keabetswe Tenyane’s amazing voice, Faye Night’s wonderful poetry, Leandri Buitendag’s hilarious monologue and Ciaryn Smal’s most graceful dance routine.

The prize for the best-supporting actress went to Jesse Jollivet; best-supporting actor was Jared Hislop; best actress was Erin McEnroe; best actor was Nkateko Baloi and the best overall was Jason van Heerden.

“Well done to our talented learners and a big thanks to everyone who helped make the evening a big success,” said Carol.
