Artists support Santa Shoebox project

“This area is still outstanding 200 Santa Shoeboxes and I’d dearly like to encourage readers to become involved and fill a box each."

CAROL Wright from Glenvista supports the Santa Shoebox project.

Last year she took the project one step further by encouraging the women who attend her art classes to become involved too.

This year her class is supporting the project again. They have painted the shoeboxes in beautiful bright colours and filled them according to the guidelines.

“This area is still outstanding 200 Santa Shoeboxes and I’d dearly like to encourage readers to become involved and fill a box each. If anyone can offer to fill a box, they can phone me on 083 601 0446, and I’ll assist them with the local drop-off point. There’s only just over a week left to take part. All the Santa Shoeboxes go to underprivileged children who otherwise wouldn’t receive a Christmas gift,” she said.

How to participate

Visit website: www.santashoebox.org.za and register as a supporter. Pick a convenient drop-off point that you can reach on the specified date.

Select one or more recipients by name, age and gender and print your coded shoebox label/s. Decorate and fill your shoebox according to the guidelines found on the website or Facebook page. Drop your shoebox at your selected drop-off point on the designated date. Remember, a pledge is a promise!
