Neighbours complain about dirty pool

The owner of the pool are busy to make plans to clean the pool.

RESIDENTS in Jim Fouche Road are unhappy with one of their neighbours regarding a dirty swimming pool which has not been maintained.

According to the resident the pool has been like this for the past four and half years. They said that due to the non-maintenance of the pool they have a continues problem with mosquito’s every single day of the year. “In summer we have swarms of mosquito’s coming into our house every night due to this problem. We need urgent assistance with this health hazard as the water is now turning black,” the resident said.

Aldermann Bruna Haipel and Clr Tiaan Kotzé have sent this complaint through to the health department for so that an inspection can be arranged, but according to the resident, nothing has been done.

“The City of Ekurhuleni’s area environmental health practitioner visited the house in Jim Fouche Street on September 7 and confirmed that the swimming pool on this property has been filled with soil (closed) and that there are no health nuisances,” said Themba Gadebe, spokesperson and senior media manager of EMM.

Another complaint from the resident was received on September 29 where the resident states there has been no progress.

The RECORD contacted the owner of the house with the swimming pool and he said they are busy cleaning up the pool but it will take some time. “The complainant can even contact me so I can explain the situation,” the owner of the house said.

*Another email was send to EMM for comment and it will be published as soon as it is received.
