ON September 7, Amcare held their annual general meeting for 2017 where they discussed all of Amcare’s events that occurred since April 2016.
They discussed events that happened at last year’s AGM, the general manager and treasurer’s reports and more. The most anticipated part of the evening was the announcement of Amcare’s new board members.
Rev Fred Cilliers handed over his position as Amcare’s chairman to Rev Faan Myburgh. Faan said: “It is an honour to be chosen as chairman of this fantastic organisation. Over the next 12 months I will serve to the best of my abilities and bring honour to Amcare.”
As for the other newly-elected board members, they are as follows:
- Dr Vernon van Wyk: vice chairman.
- Derrick Bradley: treasurer.
- Zukiswa Rotile: secretary.
- Beverley van Zyl, Malcolm Povey, Molefi Takolo, Dan Serumola, Eric McKechnie, Leslie Kirkland, Andrea Wiehahn and Ian Armitage: general board members.
After announcing the new board members, the meeting closed with a hearty applause. Everyone then proceeded to enjoy some snacks, tea and coffee whilst having a chat with each other.
