Glenvista NPC imparts life skills

“Through what we do we hope to play a part in uplifting our local communities.” - Fiona Leibrandt.

HEAD and Heart Life Solutions is a non-profit company (NPC) based in Glenvista and conducts fun-themed interventions with the aim to impart life skills to the community.

Through its fun-themed life-skill interventions the company strives to positively impact the lives of individuals, families and groups from less-fortunate communities by offering a diversity of life-skill activities for all ages. They also aim to offer life-skill workshops to the general public as a way of raising funds to sustain the work and the company.

“Our interventions comprise fun games and hands-on activities as this is often the best way to learn new and valuable skills. Each intervention is built around a central and fun theme which offers army games, popular movies, the amazing race, etc. Each intervention includes life-skills from three areas integrated within the theme,” said psychologist at Head and Heart, Fiona Leibrandt.

One example is an intervention using the ‘Hunger Games’ movie as a fun theme. This can be used to teach emotional resilience, first aid, self-defence as well as make-up skills.

Head and Heart Life Solutions is situated on 1 Campepi Place in Glenvista. For more information email fionahart@vodamail.co.za
