Revival City College builds new class block

The new block will enhance the school with 12 additional classes, an office, a library and a science laboratory.

REVIVAL City College opened earlier this year with five classes but is in the process of having another class block built, which will house many more classes and facilities.

Jenlyn Construction began building this new block (phase two) in August and it should be completed in November.

“They have done an absolutely amazing job so far,” said Karen van den Oever, operational director of Revival City. “We are so excited to see the end result.”

Currently, Revival City has five classes, which cater for Grade R to Grade Two children. Next year, the new block will enhance the school with 17 additional classes, an office, a library and a science laboratory.

NEW BUILDING: Revival City’s big new building in progress of being constructed.

Even though from next year Revival City will only accommodate Grade Three and Grade Four learners additionally, they will cater for Grade R to Grade Seven from 2019, which will then mean the total school capacity will be 550 learners. Everything has also been registered by the Gauteng Department of Education.

Revival City is fully staffed for next year, with all teachers registered with the South African Council for Educators. What these educators have most in common is a love for teaching, children and especially the Lord.

The teachers’ and the school’s focus, in general, is to teach children who they are in Christ and to give them the confidence to know that they can do everything with the Lord’s love. Another important focal point is to engage and communicate with learners’ parents. The school believes that both home and school life influences how children develop.
