SANBS receive another 300th blood donation

“I recommend donating blood as often as you can."

WITH 299 units of blood already donated he is ready for the big 300.

On September 9, SANBS Alberton branch received another 300th blood donation from an Edenvale resident, Nic Daniels. Nic (52) drove all the way from Edenvale to donate his 300th unit of blood at SANBS at 9.30am. Nic is coincidentally also the chairman of this branch (Egoli East) and serves on the SANBS council with his wife, Sylvia.

DONATING: Nic Daniels donates blood with the help of sister Tracey Rashkumar of Alberton SANBS.

“I recommend donating blood as often as you can, because it’s good for your health and, most importantly, it helps other people,” said Nic.

“I donate blood once every month and I’ve been doing it since 1982. I started donating when I was in Grade 11. I was the first student in my group to do so. It was nice, because it got me out of homework since I was obligated to rest afterwards,” he added with a grimace.

SANBS thanked Nic for his donation and congratulated him on this milestone with a big slice of cake and a bottle of sparkling wine.

If you want to save someone’s life, please donate blood at SANBS in Alberton City Shopping Centre.
