Children enjoy visit from Alberton SPCA

Ollie entertains learners.

AFTER they did academic work regarding protecting animals, the Grade Six learners of General Alberts decided to collect some donations for the Alberton SPCA.

They collected quite a few donations as well as R250 cash for the SPCA. The SPCA receives no government funding and they are totally dependant on the generosity of the local community.

On August 22 members from the SPCA came to the school to receive the donations and Kingstone Siziba (senior inspector/manager) representing the SPCA used the opportunity to speak to the learners and introduced Ollie the dog. Ollie enjoyed the visit and slept for the rest of the day. The learners enjoyed the visit and they were thanked for their support.
