Residents must contact councillors

Contact the ward councillor for any grievances.

I am writing in relation to the letter, “Dark street has Brackendowns resident frustrated”, as published on the Alberton RECORD website.

I would like to point out that should any resident not be able to get action from the municipality, they should, before approaching the media, contact the ward councillor of the area by sending an email, an SMS or WhatsApp message.

This will then enable the councillor to help escalate the issue and drive for action from the official’s side.

I have taken the information and have forwarded it to the electricity department for urgent attention.

Ward 38 councillor, Malcolm Maifala
