THE International Model of the Year Finals held recently saw a girl from Alberton place third.
The finals took place on Sunday, May 28, at the Roodepoort Youth Theatre, with 128 contestants from 13 Figures branches nationally, taking part.
An all-expenses paid trip to the IMTA Convention in New York, in July this year, was the grand prize. Earlier on in the day, the Face of the Year competition for boys aged 2 -12, took place offering a grand cash prize of R10 000.
There were 47 top scorers this year with the Alberton branch representing 11 of them. Alberton’s very own, 17-year-old Lara Groenewald placed third (second runner-up) and will be flying to fly to New York to join the IMTA group. This is a wonderful opportunity because she will be exposed to hundreds of international agents in the talent industry.
