Mrs Africa finalist aims to empower women and children

"Please give me the chance to give back to our community.”

LUCINDA Pietersen, finalist for the Mrs Africa pageant and founder of MJ Productions, has a vision to empower women and children across the world.

This 31-year-old mother of mother of three children, was born in Eldorado Park and currently resides in Albertsdal, Alberton. She has stopped at nothing to achieve her life-long goals and has been selected as a top 30 finalist in the Mrs Africa Pageant, representing South Africa. She has also established her own modelling company, Miraculous Jewels Productions (MJP), and aims to use it to build up confidence in women and children.

She attended the South Hills Primary School as well as the JG Strydom High School in South Hills. During her time as a learner she won several modelling competitions at her schools, she was a prefect, student council representative, as well as the badminton captain from primary school right up to high school.

Since her youth, she has had a fighting spirit and stopped at nothing to reach her dreams. She is a certified NLP practitioner, life and business coach, and is in the process of completing her Christian counselling certification. She wishes to put these qualifications to good use.

Miraculous Jewel Productions (MJP), the Alberton-based company that has recently been registered under Lucinda’s name, was born with the mission to bring forth positive change in the community, building up confidence in women and children and empowering them to be the best versions of themselves. “It is by the Grace of God that MJP has seen the light. MJP is the umbrella for Miraculous Jewel Women’s Support Group, Team MJP Community Outreach Project and MJ Modelling Academy. These are to be launched later this year,” she says.

Lucinda explains how she plans on using her position in the Mrs Africa Pageant to make a positive change: “The reason I entered this pageant was because I have a desire to make a change – this pageant gave me the remarkable opportunity which I could use in a positive way, to impact and change the lives of women and children all across the globe. I believe I can achieve this with the help of our community. Too often we are dismissed because of where we come from; we stand for something and we are capable of achieving anything. I am proud to represent not only Alberton, but also the South. Please give me the chance to give back to our community.”
