Reporters are on the scene of a hijacking of a police vehicle on the corner of Jan Coetzee Street and Kritzinger Road in Florentia.
A residents’ WhatsApp group reports that a police vehicle that was hijacked has been recovered. A shoot out ensued between the suspect and the police.
The road is blocked. Please avoid the area.
Reporting from the scene: The vehicle was hijacked on the N3 where the woman driver was thrown out of the vehicle.
The suspect crashed into a wall during the high speed chase and was shot in the head, he has been transported to hospital.
