BREAKING NEWS: Helen’s Fish and Chips owner dies during armed robbery

An armed robbery, early this morning on Monday, April 3, has left one victim dead after being shot by one of the alleged robbers.

An armed robbery, early this morning on Monday, April 3, has left one victim dead after being shot by one of the alleged robbers.

At around 06:30 am, two or three (sources vary on this detail) suspects robbed the Helen’s Fish and Chips shop in Voortrekker Road, Alberton, and fired several shots. The owner was hit and subsequently died.

CROWD GATHERING: Many curious bystanders look on at the scene.

The Fox Security medical unit, CPS Security, the SAPS and National Paramedic Services were on-scene.

Upon RECORD’s arrival on the scene, many had surrounded the area while the police took statements from eyewitnesses.

As far as it is known, no arrests have been made as yet.
