Is Alberton Home Affairs in distress?

A week later, the flags were still upside-down.

IT was recently brought to the RECORD’s attention that the South African flags on the Alberton Home Affairs building are displayed upside down.

A resident reported it to the RECORD on Friday, March 10, and we immediately dashed out to take a photo.

Traditionally, to fly a national flag upside down is a sign of distress or surrender.

Whether home affairs officials are aware of the issue (or are actually in distress) is unclear as the RECORD has not been able to get hold of anyone to discuss this with at the offices.
