BREAKING NEWS: Dead body found in Alberton taxi rank

Not much information is available at this stage, but according to some of the taxi owners, the man was homeless and would sleep in the rank.

THE body of a man (presumed to be homeless) has been found at the taxi rank on the corners of Ring Road East and Redruth streets in Alberton.

Upon arrival at the scene, the police prevented journalists from entering the scene, despite no cordon being put up and it being a public area.

Not much information is available at this stage, but according to some of the taxi owners, the man was homeless and would sleep in the rank.

“This is the second time we’ve come across a body here,” said one of the taxi owners who wanted to remain anonymous.

The RECORD has contacted the SAPS for comment and we are waiting for their response.
