Peanut’s party brings a wiggle and lots of wags

It was a great day of sunshine, wet noses and friendship.

PEANUT the chihuahua celebrated his fifth birthday at Goldfields Training Ground on Saturday, March 4. He was all dressed up and surrounded by his best human and doggy friends.

Peanut is the healthy dog owned by Adri Nel, chairperson of the Alberton SPCA. This year Adri decided to celebrate Peanut’s birthday with a dog party. Even though his actual birthday falls on March 11, Peanut had a very merry party on Saturday.

He was dressed in his best doggy suit and had his lovely chihuahua madame Mia by his side, looking elegant in her pink tutu dress. They were the stars of the party.

The event started off with a friendly hello-sniffle among dog friends. Humans strolled with their dogs around the training ground, enjoying the trees and nature. Peanut and Miya walked together, leading the way for the rest.

DOGGY PARTY PACKS: Each canine guest received their own little party pack filled with surprises. How fun!

As they arrived back at the party site, there were doggy party packs for each friend. These included pet treats, such as rawhide chews, dog biscuits, toys and other useful surprises.

Dog guests also got to enjoy the obstacle courses and mini-pools to cool off in, and there were even inflatable fun slides for the children.

With micro-chipping and dip baths offered at a reduced cost, this fund-raiser for the SPCA was one big party.

It was a great day of sunshine, wet noses and friendship, all thanks to Peanut’s loving human mother, Adri.

Happy birthday, Peanut. May there be many more love-filled years ahead of you. Woof-woof!
