Alberton brings home gold

THREE athletes from Alberton, Danie Smit, Tristan Quinn and Carl Janse van Rensburg have taken home gold and silver at the Inaugural Ekurhuleni Primary and Secondary School Awards for 2016.
On November 30, Danie Smit won a first place and Tristan Quinn and Carl Janse van Rensburg a second place in their respective categories.
Danie Smit and Tristan Quinn are both members of the Alberton Athletics club, while Carl Janse van Rensburg is a member of the Diamond Athletics Academy.
Head coach, Maria Diamond and head of administration, John Diamond (new councillor for sport and recreation and heritage), from the Diamond Athletics Club, say they are very proud of them.
