Figures Face of the Year

The Debutante division, saw students who raised more than R1 200 cash were crowned and acknowledged, and winners were announced in each age category.

The semi-finals of the sought after National Student Model of the Year title took place at the Roodepoort Youth Theatre, on Saturday, November 5.
Students worked diligently throughout the year towards being able to participate in this ultimate recognition of their hard work and dedication.

There are several age categories, starting from girls aged two-six, seven-nine, 10-12, 13-15, 16 and older, and the teachers’ open category.
The boys also competed in their respective age groups, ranging from two-12 to 13 and older. The outfits are standardised and judging is based on modelling skills, commercial and fashion abilities. The girls wore beautiful navy blue, form-fitting dresses, and the boys black pants with funky black muscle shirts.

The finalists from each age category were also crowned and announced and will be proudly representing Alberton Figures Finesse Models over the weekend of December 2, 3 and 4, at the Roodepoort Youth Theatre. There will be three different modelling divisions, namely skill, commercial and fashion, and each category will have three cash winners.

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the finalists who made it through to the finals and to wish them good luck for the National Student Model of the Year 2016 title.

This follows after the National Face of the Year Girls aged 13-15 for Figures Finesse International Modelling which took place on Sunday afternoon, October 2, at the Roodepoort Youth Theatre.
There were over 100 finalists participating from all over South Africa proudly representing their respective branches.

The Alberton branch were the proud “parents” of 11 young finalists. Among the judges were a casting director,­­ Desmund Thirtle. The girls were required to show their versatility and stage personality/ presence. The competition was friendly but fierce and no one envied the judges as they had some tough scoring decisions to make on the day.
Well done to the Alberton finalists, especially to the seven who made it through to the Top Scorers. And congratulations to Nadia Momberg, who won the Face of the Year title and walked away with a whopping cash prize of R10 000.
