Burglars steal while family sleeps

The burglars entered through the window and left through the sliding door.

BEWARE if your house is fitted with the new, stylish aluminium window frames, as burglars have discovered an easy way to remove the glass by just unclipping the external panes.

Candice Roman of Achmat Dangor Street in extension five of Riemvasmaak got up at 06:00 on Thursday, November 10 and found her sliding door wide open and a window pane removed.

“We never heard anything. I got up twice during the night and things were alright. But at 06:00 I noticed that my sliding door was open and that my plasma television, DVD, Playstation and amplifier were gone. The burglars had entered through the window and left through the sliding door,” she said.

Candice further alleged that a similar burglary occurred on almost the same date and day in 2015. “It was on November 11 and this one on November 10 but both on a Thursday.”

Married to a disabled husband, the unemployed mother of three has opened a case with Eden Park SAPS. Anyone with information about any of the two incidents can contact the SAPS on 011 385 2988. Case numbers: 94/11/2015 and 82/11/2016.
