Murdered Alberton teen’s body found

THE community of Alberton is in shock after the discovery of a murdered, 16-year-old girl.
Ané Jacobs’s body was found on Tuesday, November 1, in a veld close to the Alberton rugby and soccer clubs.
The manager of the Farm Animals Unit for the NSPCA, Grace de Lange, was asked by two men to follow them and they led her to the body of the deceased.

“I thought I was going to be shown a dead dog or something but, coming closer, I realised that it was too big for that, then saw that it was a human body lying there,” said a distraught Grace.

“It’s a terrible thing, a real shock to the system; it’s hard to even put into words.”
Police report that there was visible bruising to Ane’s face, which could have been caused by an unknown object, and her head and neck seemed to be distorted and twisted.
Her friend, Stephane du Plessis, posted on Facebook over the weekend: “Hi almal my vriendin Ane Jacobs is weg, niemand weet waar sy is nie! As enige iemand dalk enige informasie het van haar laat weet my groot asb …”

Stephane’s post also mentions that Ané was last seen at the roadhouse in Alberton North.
Information gathered from friends and family, seems to suggest that Ané was out on the town with friends, and visited several pubs and similar social gathering spots in Alberton North on Saturday.
There is no known information yet to say what may have occurred in the time between when she went missing and when her body was found, but the police are busy with the investigation.
Anybody with any information is urged to contact the investigating officer, Capt Redelinghuys on 083 459 6877, or the Alberton SAPS on 011 861 6800.
