Bracken Primary School recently hosted a cancer fund-raiser, hoping to raise R50 000 for the Helen Joseph Breast Care Unit.

On Saturday, October 29, the school saw hundreds of women gather to support this worthy cause, with guest speaker and cancer survivor Dr Lynn Holmes giving an insightful presentation regarding cancer.

Dorothy Buitendag, one of the organisers and also a cancer survivor, did a wonderful job of getting everything done and looking pretty in pink. A vote of thanks was also extended to all the helpers and hostesses who helped with all the arrangements and things that needed to be done to make the event a great success.

The school was made up all in pink, with balloons everywhere, and every guest received a lovely gift bag and vendor stalls on the premises offered all kinds of goodies for sale.
