Baby Juvan loses his battle

Juvan Botha, the sickly baby that crept into countless peoples' hearts recently, has passed away.

JUVAN Botha, the sickly baby who crept into countless peoples’ hearts recently, has passed away.

The little fighter lost his battle on Sunday, October 16. “After six weeks of fighting, his little heart just couldn’t go on anymore as a result of his condition,” said a heartbroken Chantel Botha, mother of Juvan.

On the front page of the RECORD for October 12, we asked for assistance to find baby Juvan a cardiologist who has knowledge of the particular conditions Juvan suffered from.

It was found that Juvan had several serious conditions, namely pulmonary atresia with a VSD (ventricular septal defectand) and MAPCA’s (major aortopulmonary collateral arteries) – a complex congenital defect causing severe anomalies of pulmonary blood supply.
