Patrons die in tavern struggle

A woman fails to stop fight.

A FEUD over beer between two patrons, at a tavern in Greenfield, ended in both their deaths.

The Eden Park SAPS reported that, at 23:55 on Sunday, October 2, they were summoned to a murder case.

On arrival at the scene they found two bodies.

It is reported that a saleswoman at the tavern saw them on the CCTV camera, fighting.

The woman tried to intervene, but failed to separate them, due to the strong grip they had on each other’s throats.

She went to call for help and, when she returned, both men were motionless on the floor. Paramedics were called and declared them both dead on the scene. There were no visible external injuries.

The cause of death is still unknown and both bodies were taken to the Germiston Mortuary.
