NATIONAL NEWS: Taxi crashes into light pole

The fifth patient fortunately escaped injury.

FOUR people were injured this morning after a taxi crashed into a light pole at the intersection of Jan Smuts Avenue and Smit Street, in Dunkeld, Johannesburg.

Paramedics from ER24 Johannesburg North arrived on the scene and found the taxi parked partially on the side of the road, with the nose against a street pole. Five occupants were found walking around on the scene.

On assessment, paramedics found that four of the five had sustained minor injuries.

Paramedics treated the patients and thereafter transported them to a nearby provincial hospital for further treatment.

The cause of the collision is not yet known, but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
