New jungle gym for Jacksonville children

The foundation is looking for people to assist by donating toys for their Christmas party

THE Boithuto Community Project, at the Jacksonville squatter camp, was recently gifted with R10 000 by Gold Reef City and Tsogo Sun, which they used to erect a jungle gym on the premises.

Luisah Rafoma started the Boithuto Community Project in 2012 and sees approximately 160 children being fed daily.

Facilitator of the project, Tracey le Roux, spoke to the RECORD, saying that Gold Reef City and Tsogo Sun selected 15 charities to which they were donating; Boithuto was the top winning charity.

“They donated R10 000, which we used to erect the jungle gym, which cost R11 000,” she said.

”We would like to thank Gold Reef for this donation. The children already love it and spend most of their time after school playing.

”We run a feeding scheme at the camp and are aiming to improve their area for play. This has helped greatly.”

The foundation is also appealing to people to assist by donating toys for the Christmas party to be held for all the children.
