Dancers rake in 42 medals

The South African Dance Foundation recently hosted the Social Professional and Amateur Competition.

THE South African Dance Foundation hosted the Social Professional and Amateur Competition on September 10 at the Midrand Conference Centre. This is one competition of many hosted annually leading up to the SA Champion competition in December.

Just Gotta Dance Studio in Randhart had several dancers participating in the competition. Rache Baragwanath was awarded first place in the cha-cha, samba and jive while Paige Harris, Natalie Borland and Marie van der Linden scooped first place in the boogie category.

Other first place achievements for the evening were Natalie and Melanie Kruger in the sokkie section, Marie and Melanie in the western swing section.

Marie also won the ballroom section while Natalie, Marie and Rache were also first in the rumba section.

Mambo, Merengue, waltz, tango and quick step were second places for Rache.

The total achievements for the studio were 14 gold and 28 silver medals.
