What a waste of precious water

The pipe started leaking soon after EMM replaced the electricity box.

“WHY do they take so long to come and fix this damaged water pipe?” asked Eden Park resident Elias Coetzee.

“I reported the leak on September 6 and was given reference number 211 9038 by the metro. Days have come and gone and still nobody has come to repair the pipe, which is wasting clean water.”

According to Elias, EMM installed a new electrical main box at his gate about two months ago, near his water meter.

“We, the residents of Austin Street, had a problem with the main box in our street and it had to be replaced, but, since the installation of the new one, water has started to bubble out just between the main box and the water meter; it started slowly, but is now bubbling stronger,” he said.

“I am unemployed and will be charged for all these wasted litres of clean water.

”The leakage started on September 2, which is about three weeks ago. I beg EMM to fix this water pipe.”

The RECORD forwarded the complaint to EMM on Friday, September 16, for comment, and will publish their reply as soon as it is received.
