Ekurhuleni hosts Hackathon Challenge

TECH savvy and innovative minds are invited to a weekend-long hackathon to develop IT solutions that will help Ekurhuleni metro accelerate service delivery in an efficient manner.

The Ekurhuleni Hackathon which will be held from Friday, September 30 to Sunday, October 2 under the theme: ‘A Digitally Connected City’ will see close to 250 developers, web designers and engineers using various technologies, hardware and APIs to turn their ideas into practical solutions for the municipality.

Starting time is 16:00 on September 30 at the Germiston Banquet Hall, corner Long and Cross streets, Germiston.

Hackathon challenges will be presented to the various teams to solve through Big Data, Analytics, Apps and Open Data. The prototypes will be pitched on the last day of the hackathon, where the winning teams will be selected by the judges for a share of R150 000 prize money.
