Hair academy comes out tops

The Hair Academy of South Africa Alberton (THASA Alberton) is the first college in Alberton to be selected as a hairdressing trade test centre for City and Guilds.

The first trade test was held on August 15 and 16 and consisted of an eight-hour practical exam.

The hair academy provides an overall experience to students taking them through all the aspects of hairdressing, including salon management, while getting first-hand practical experience of styling, colouring, perming, cutting, bleaching and so much more.

Qualifications approved by City & Guilds (Hairdressing International Qualification) 3002-72 and 3002-73 Level 2 and Level 3.

With the international hairdressing qualification, students will be able to enter into a range of employment opportunities.

These include:

  • Magazine photo shoots.
  • Lecturer.
  • Trainer.
  • Working abroad.
  • Freelance hairdresser.

A student guide will provide the student with detailed information about the programme as well as requirements and procedures during their studies.

During training you will be encouraged to:

  • Participate in competitions.
  • See platform artists at work.
  • Experience demonstrations on the latest products and techniques.
  • Learn in a fun-filled and supportive environment.
