SPCA Golf Day

Remember every little helps.

The SPCA in Alberton has been in existence for nearly 40 years and has grown from strength to strength.

On September 6 the members are holding a golf day, to raise much needed funds.

The main aim of this event is to raise enough money to build isolation kennels, so that dogs which are admitted to the society, and which, it is suspected may be carrying distemper or similar illnesses, can be housed away from the majority of residents.

“By doing this we will reduce the chances of contamination and the spread of disease,” said Vanja Ingold, a member of the Alberton SPCA.

”To make this project a reality, we will also need the community’s help. We need donations of bricks, IBR roofing and cement, so we can commence building as soon as possible.

‘We also intend to enlarge some of our kennels to improve the space available for the bigger dogs who are admitted to our care.

“Our kennels are old and many are in need of refurbishment, so this project is very important to us. We have recently completed a massive improvement with the new drainage system, thanks to great sponsors.

”However, as always, there is more that needs to be done.”

If anyone is able to donate, contact the senior inspector and manager, Kingstone Sibiza, on 011 907 1568, or send an email to albertonspca@telkomsa.net

If you are able to help with the golf day, either as players or sponsors, contact the office on 011 907 1568, or email to fundraising1@spcaalberton.org.za.

“Thank you in advance for your support. Alberton SPCA really appreciates the support we receive from the community as we continue to fight for the voiceless,” Ingold said.
