Jacob’s Well talks business

Jacob's Well, Alberton, is offering a business training course, as well as sewing classes, for the community.

JACOB’S Well, a non-profit organisation in Alberton, is offering a business training course, as well as sewing classes, for the community.

This organisation tasks itself with uplifting the community through outreach and skills development programmes.

“Entrepreneurship is the best-kept secret to job creation”, says Estelle Bickerton from the organisation, regarding its training course.

The course will cover the following: Introduction to entrepreneurship; Identifying and developing opportunities; Identifying and utilising resources; Teamwork in business; Business management and leadership; Marketing planning; Financial planning; Human resource management; The business plan.

The facilitator for the course is Dr Johan Louw, who has been in education for 22 years. He has served on many governing bodies and has hosted lectures and workshops on many issues, one being business and entrepreneurship management. He has lectured in 15 countries around the world.

The course will run for five consecutive Saturdays from September 17 to October 22, from 08:30 until 16:00 (tea break at 10:30, lunch break at 13:00, tea break at 14:30).

Price: R1 000 (which includes your manual, teas, coffees and a light lunch).

Fees must be paid by no later than September 10.

Jacob’s Well also offers sewing classes for those interested in making their own clothing and bags and perhaps even selling their wares.

Classes take place on Tuesdays from 08:00 until 14:00 and on Thursdays from 09:00 until 14:00. Prices for the courses: Tuesdays and Thursdays R120 per month. Saturdays R150 per month.
