Caxton South honours those who serve

The 22 Pushup Challenge is a campaign intended to focus attention on the exceptionally high rate of suicide among military veterans.

An estimated 7 400 veterans commit suicide each year, which works out to 22 veterans who commit suicide every day.

Just like challenges in the past, such as the Ice Bucket Challenge, this one simply calls on participants to do 22 push-ups and then challenge someone else to do the same.

Here are the south’s own soldiers, David Pienaar, Linda Mbuyane and Kwanda Nxasana, doing their 22 push-ups.

It is important to find ways to help veterans to overcome any of the mental, physical or emotional issues they face, so they can lead happy, healthy and fulfilling lives. That’s something we all hope for, so it’s definitely not too much to ask for the men and women who served our country.

We challenge you to do the same and to post your videos on our Facebook pages.
