Police arrest suspected drug dealer

A suspected drug dealer was arrested recently for being in possession of a large quantity of dagga.

A SUSPECTED drug dealer was arrested recently for being in possession of a large quantity of dagga.

On Tuesday, July 26, Lieutenant Colonel Polly Kgakane Moganedi, the new Vispol head, announced his arrival by arresting the alleged drug dealer.

While Moganedi was being made familiar with the area, police officers went to Padstow taxi rank with Captain Solomon Matlou, Warrant Officer Jacobus Johannes Lindeque and Warrant Officer Cornelius Swanepoel and on arrival a suspected dealer was searched and found in possession of dagga. The suspect was arrested, charged and has already appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court to answer to the charges.

“There is no place for drug dealers in Alberton and community members are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to the police,” said Sergeant Phora Nkuna, spokesperson for the Alberton SAPS.
