Charity gives to the needy

Sixty-seven children received full winter school uniforms (including long-sleeve shirts, jerseys, trousers, and shoes) and stationery packs.

ABUSED and Abandoned Kids Educational Excursions (AAAKEE) is a charitable organisation based in Fairview, Johannesburg that caters for nearly 800 children from six different children’s orphanage homes in Gauteng. This July, the organisation made two consignments to two different beneficiaries. The first consignment, as part of their Mandela Month initiative, involved donating 67 sets of two hampers each to the local community via the Kensington Methodist Church. The first hamper contained non-perishable foods, and the second hamper contained warm winter clothing. The second consignment, as part of the organisation’s Uniform Fund, was made to Don Bosco Educational Projects in Ennerdale. Sixty-seven children received full winter school uniforms (including long-sleeve shirts, jerseys, trousers, and shoes) and stationery packs.

The organisation would like to extend a special word of thanks to all sponsors, including Bona Electronic Solutions, for their donations in aid of these two projects. “Without their support we would not be able to provide for the needy as we have set out to do,” said Wayne Schoeman, a representative of the organisation.

AAAKEE runs several funds and projects throughout the year, dealing with the provision of food, groceries, uniforms, stationery, learning materials, and more.
