United to increase awareness

Stakeholders embarked on an awareness campaign about their services in Eden Park.

GAUTENG Province, Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality and Eden Park SAPS in partnership with Eden Park Victim Support Centre embarked on a campaign to inform residents of Eden Park, Greenfields and Extension Five on Friday, June 24, at the community hall.

The stakeholders set up different information desks to disseminate information and to create awareness around key issues in the community.

Mobile clinics were set up for HIV testing, to check blood pressure, and sugar levels for all residents.

Gauteng Province focused on creating awareness around road safety, crime awareness, alcohol and drug abuse, dealing with abuse and domestic violence and the protection of the elderly.

On site was also a mobile office of Home Affairs to give advice and information to many first-time applicants of ID cards. Eagle Excellence Hospice and Empowerment Centre also informed the community about their services.
