Hit-and-run victim still in a coma

The family is pleading with the community to keep on praying for young Tyrell.

TYRELL Peters (11) of Audi Street, Eden Park has been in a coma in Thelle Mogoerane Hospital in Vosloorus since Sunday, June 12.

Young Tyrell, a Grade 6 learner of Eden Park Primary School, was hit by two vehicles on the K146 Road to Palmridge. According to his aunt, Sarah Peters, the first vehicle knocked the boy down when it was passing so close to the boy that he was hit by the side mirror. As he went down, a second vehicle drove over him and just drove off.

“Please, please we are pleading with the community and church leaders to pray for our dear Tyrell who is still in a coma with broken arms and legs. We pray day and night for him and do plead with people to pray with us,” said Sarah.

Tyrell’s mother, Violet, was not available to speak to the RECORD. Speaking on behalf of her sister, Sarah expressed the family’s gratitude towards the driver of the first vehicle that hit the boy. “He stopped and never left the scene of the accident. He has been visiting Tyrell in hospital and has been praying for him. We are thankful to this man, a pastor, for his caring attention towards the little boy,” Sarah said.
