SAPS ask how they can improve

An understanding was reached that communities need to form neighbourhood watches that will be active in fighting crime.

ALBERTON SAPS held a meeting with community members on Saturday, May 14, to discuss how the police can deliver a better service. The consultation took place at Leondale High School.

Acting Vispol head Captain Solomon Matlou and sector manager W/O Gideon Mabaso, addressed the community and shared safety tips.

An understanding was reached that communities need to form neighbourhood watches that will be active in fighting crime.

The neighbourhood watches need to work closely with the police without subjecting suspected criminals to mob justice.

Fighting crime is everyone’s responsibility and forming a neighbourhood watch is the first step in fighting crime. Crime meetings are held monthly at the school and everyone is welcome to attend.
