Three bikers assault old man

On Sunday evening, 10 April, a man was allegedly assaulted by three men claiming to be biker club members.

ON Sunday evening, April 10, a man was allegedly assaulted by three men claiming to be members of a biker club.

“My wife (74) and I were watching television when my dog started barking very loudly at around 19:50,” said the Alberton resident.

”My wife and I put the outside lights on and went to my front gate to see what was happening.”

According to the man, there were three large men smoking, drinking and making a lot of noise.

“One of them told me to open the gate because he wants to **** me up and all three of them started shouting at me”, he continued.

“Suddenly the one guy ran at a high speed and hit the gate off the railing, which caused the gate to burst open and injure my arm. They all ran onto my property and I was hit in the face, knocking out my tooth. I ran into the house, but they followed me in and started knocking my wife (who has dementia) against the wall. She was screaming and shaking and is now in a very bad state, having bad nightmares.”

The man says he got his phone and called the Brakendowns Police, and one of the men hit him on the head, while another shouted for his friends to leave before the police arrived.

The complainant goes on to say that a security guard came to see what was going on and he, too, was assaulted, after which two of the thugs got into their car to escape.

“I went out to write down the registration number, then one of them jumped out and ran into me, knocking me over and hitting my head and arm on the concrete,” he adds.

”One of them shouted at me and said ‘I can do what I want, I’m above the law. I’ll get them to come back and kill you’.”

“Three suspects were arrested on charges of assault and malicious damage to property and they appeared in court on Tuesday, 19 April. A court date will be set once the investigation has been concluded,” said Brackendowns Police spokesperson Lindi Moloi.
